DIY Santorini Wedding Decor in Blue & Purple
What do you think about DIY weddings? I just love them!!
A DIY wedding in Santorini can be gorgeous! This beautiful island gives us the opportunity to take our creativity to the limits! So many materials to be used at this natural blue and white backdrop!
This rustic wedding decor, in purple and blue palette, was inspired by three things: the Santorini blue, purple flowers and recycled bottles :)
While seeing my friend Laskarina recycling these beautiful blue water bottles an idea popped out: they would look adorable in an white and blue rustic Santorini environment!! This time of year Santorini is full of wild flowers in purple shades and I have always been a fan of the blue & purple palette!
There it was...a DIY wedding decoration plan was instantly created!!
A Cliffside churchyard was the perfect venue for bringing the design into life.
Only the following very simple materials were needed:
- Numerous blue recycled glass bottles, from which I had removed the labels
- A bunch of purple seasonal flowers
- Paper doilies to create the table runner and
- Some string to decorate the long bottles
At wedding receptions, the guestbook is always a favorite item for couples and their guests!
We tried a different DIY project for this: an old blue window we had at our old house.
The wishes were hanged at the strings we passed through, after removing the glass from the window.
Each wishing card was decorated with paper doilies :)
This window guestbook was so easy to make and the final result made us so happy!!
