Wedding Cake Inspiration

 “A party without a cake is just a meeting” Julia Child has said and who can disagree with that!!

High at top our list of wedding must-haves, sits a gorgeous cake!!  The wedding cake at all our Santorini weddings is not only a delicious part of the dessert bar, is also an important ingredient of the wedding styling process.

If I could separate my list of prettiest wedding cakes in categories, the favorite ones would be these four: Naked cakes, Icing creations, Cream cakes and Alternative cakes.

Naked Cakes:
This trend has been here for a while and hopefully will last much more!!  Totally naked or partially covered with cream and almost always decorated with fresh fruits  these cakes are a must at many whimsical, rustic or vintage weddings. Not only do they look AMAZING, they are absolutely delicious!!

Icing Creations:
I think it will be fair to say that these cakes are basically art creations! The possibilities of designing a gorgeous cake here are countless!! So many colors, shapes, patterns and styles.  An icing cake can be incorporated perfectly and impress everyone at all style of weddings: elegant, glamorous, modern, industrial, vintage, beach wedding or island wedding.  All you need is a talented cake designer and your cake will definitely make a style statement!!

This is definitely the most delicious of all categories! With butter cream or simple wiped cream, white or colorful these cake are always yummy!! In contrary to what most people believe these cakes are not only for a classic or less is more styling. Only with a bit of imagination these cakes can be beauties to feast your eyes on! We have seen fabulous cream cakes at many romantic, classic, elegant, whimsical, rustic, vintage weddings and not only!
